Gray Hair Jobs

Accessibility

We want Gray Hair Jobs to be easy for everyone to use, whatever your eyesight, hands, hearing or comfort with technology.

What we do

  • Large, clear text. Body text starts at 18 pixels, in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
  • Text size control. Use the Aa buttons at the top of every page to choose Normal, Large or Extra large text. Your choice is remembered on your device.
  • Zoom friendly. Pages work when zoomed to 200% or more, without sideways scrolling on most screens.
  • Strong contrast. Text and buttons are designed to meet the highest contrast level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG AAA) where possible.
  • Big targets. Buttons and links are large enough to tap easily, even with a less steady hand.
  • Keyboard use. Everything can be reached with the Tab key, with a bright yellow highlight showing where you are. A "Skip to main content" link appears first.
  • Screen readers. Pages use proper headings, labels and landmarks.
  • No surprises. No pop-ups, no autoplaying video, no moving carousels, and we respect your device's "reduce motion" setting.
  • Never color alone. Important information is always written in words, not shown only by color.
  • Works without extras. Job search works even if JavaScript is turned off or your computer is older.

Our goal

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the site and Level AAA where practical. We test with keyboards, screen readers and browser zoom.
